Day-Wise Itinerary Schedule

Day 1 – Airport • Negombo • Sigiriya

Warm welcome & assistance on arrival at the airport. Drive towards Sigiriya with a short visit to Negombo, a coastal town rich in fishing traditions and colonial influences. In the afternoon, explore Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an architectural marvel dating back to the 5th century AD. The palace ruins, frescoes and gardens have earned UNESCO World Heritage status. Dinner & overnight in Sigiriya.

Day 2 – Polonnaruwa • Anuradhapura

Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s medieval capital, home to beautifully preserved temples, stupas and the famous Gal Vihara Buddha statues. Afternoon drive to Anuradhapura, the island’s first and longest-standing capital, an ancient centre of Buddhist pilgrimage with impressive stupas, palaces and monasteries. Return to your hotel in Sigiriya for overnight.

Day 3 – Sigiriya • Dambulla • Nalanda • Matale • Kandy

After breakfast, drive to Dambulla Cave Temples (UNESCO), featuring over 150 Buddha statues and exquisite cave paintings. Continue to Nalanda Gedige, a unique archaeological site with remarkable Hindu-Buddhist architecture. Visit a spice garden and batik workshop in Matale before reaching Kandy. Evening visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Lanka’s most revered shrine. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 4 – Kandy • Pinnawala • Kandy

After breakfast, excursion to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, created to care for young elephants in need. Return to Kandy for a guided city tour including the lake and local craft shops. Visit the Kandy Museum, then enjoy a cultural dance performance celebrating traditional Sri Lankan arts. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 5 – Kandy • Peradeniya • Nuwara Eliya

Visit the spectacular Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, renowned for a vast collection of plants and an exceptional Orchid House. Drive into the lush tea highlands. Visit a tea factory and learn how world-famous Ceylon Tea is crafted. Continue to Nuwara Eliya, nicknamed “Little England”. Evening by scenic Gregory Lake. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 6 – Nuwara Eliya • Ella • Buduruwagala • Kataragama • Yala

Breakfast at the hotel and scenic drive to Ella with photo stops overlooking stunning valleys. Continue to Buduruwagala, featuring majestic 10th-century Buddha carvings. Then travel to Kataragama, a sacred pilgrimage town. Afternoon jeep safari in Yala National Park, home to elephants, deer, birds, crocodiles and one of the highest leopard densities in the world. Overnight in Yala/Tissamaharama region.

Day 7 – Weligama • Galle • Colombo

After breakfast, depart for Galle. On the way stop to observe the stilt fishermen of Weligama. Explore the mighty Galle Fort, a UNESCO-listed colonial stronghold with charming streets and seaside ramparts. Continue to Colombo for a city tour around Fort, Pettah, Galle Face Green and the serene Kelaniya Buddhist Temple. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 8 – Colombo • Airport
